Before joining Riverkeeper, Sebastian was the research coordinator at the Institute of Nature and Society of Oaxaca (INSO), an NGO based in Southern Mexico focused on the integrated management of the Atoyac-Verde River watershed. With INSO, he worked to empower communities through citizen science and community-led zoning ordinances, built partnerships for the conservation of the Cordillera Norte mountain range, and learned how to dance cumbia(ish). He is a graduate of the Bard Center for Environmental Policy and resides in the Hudson Valley.
