Ryan Palmer

Ryan Palmer is Director of the Center for the Urban River at Beczak (CURB) at Sarah Lawrence College. Ryan joined the Sarah Lawrence community in August 2013 when he was appointed the first Director of CURB. A Hudson Valley native, Ryan previously served as Director of Clearwater’s Green Cities Initiative. His specialties include Hudson River and urban watershed issues, green infrastructure, water quality monitoring, community organizing, and environmental justice. Ryan has training in land use law, stream monitoring, biodiversity assessment, and watershed management and planning, as well as over 15 years’ experience in the environmental non-profit field. He serves on the Board of the Hudson River Watershed Alliance, as Co-Chair of the Westchester County Climate Crisis Task Force Water Committee, and as a Mayoral-appointed member of the Yonkers Green City Advisory Committee. He holds a BS in Environmental Science from the University of Rhode Island.
