Mohonk Consultations is honoring John Lipscomb, Patrol Boat Captain and Vice President for Advocacy at Riverkeeper, with its 2018 Distinguished Achievement Award.

For the last 17 years, Captain Lipscomb has patrolled the Hudson River for Riverkeeper. From April to December each year, Lipscomb travels thousands of nautical miles between New York Harbor and Troy, searching out and deterring polluters, monitoring tributary streams and waterfront facilities, and monitoring water pollution levels.

Special guests include:

Jon Bowermaster – Writer, Filmmaker, and National Geographic Adventurer
Amanda Higgs – Fisheries Biologist, NYSDEC Hudson River Estuary Program and Cornell University
Dan Shapley – Water Quality Program Director, Riverkeeper

Join us in the Parlor to hear inspiring stories of Captain Lipscomb and his steadfast dedication to the Hudson River. The river will come to life through Jon Bowermaster’s interviews with our honoree, including brand new footage that captures what excites the boat captain most about the Hudson.

Online registration here.

Registration is required. The Parlor will open at 5 p.m. The event begins at 5:15 p.m.
Please give yourself plenty of extra time, as you’ll need to get through the Mountain House gate, drive 2 miles to the parking lots, and walk up to the Parlor.

Mohonk Consultations is a non-profit organization that engages and convenes the Hudson Valley community to share dialogue and collaborate on regional issues that have global significance. Past conferences, forums, and awards have focused on agriculture and food security, water resources, land conservation, and climate change.
