The New York Times called ultrarunner Diane Van Deren a “medical miracle”. Diane spent 10 years racked by debilitating epilepsy, until risky and radical brain surgery gave her a seizure-free life. A long-time athlete with a uniquely competitive spirit, Diane has been driven to win grueling events like the 2009 Yukon Arctic Ultra, a 430-mile foot race across a frozen wilderness. In May 2012, she shattered the speed record for North Carolina’s Mountains to Sea Trail, running its 1000 miles in an amazing 22 days.

Thanks to Paragon Sports, all sales from the 6 p.m. VIP reception at Symphony Space’s Cafe Thalia will benefit Riverkeeper. Gallay will speak at the VIP reception and the event. VIP tickets are just $20.

For the 7 p.m. “Never Stop Exploring” program, reserved seats cost $8, and free general admission seats are also available.
