Newtown Creek Community Advisory Group Meeting

The next Community Advisory Group meeting for the Newtown Creek Superfund site cleanup will cover a variety of topics relevant to the Brooklyn creek’s longterm health and restoration. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection will be in attendance. The agenda includes:

  • New York City’s Role in the Superfund Process
  • Green infrastructure initiatives and plans for Newtown Creek drainage area
  • Installation of Flow meters on Newtown Creek and other construction plans
  • Newtown Creek wastewater treatment plant plans
  • Ecological Services and environmental restoration

Riverkeeper, which has been instrumental in the effort to secure a cleanup for the Newtown Creek and bring polluters there to justice, is a member of the Community Advisory Group’s steering committee. For more information, visit newtowncreekcag.wordpress.com.
