With the Fukushima disaster in Japan reverberating in our minds and the aging Indian Point power plant right around the corner, this alarming film describes the history of American nuclear energy and its dire consequences, especially on our health. Based on Kelly McMasters’ memoir about growing up in the shadow of the Brookhaven reactor, this is an acutely topical cautionary tale and call to action. As McMasters says, “We all live downstream from something.”
