Listen, create, love – Let your inspiration flow to the Hudson River!

We’re working with the great Woodstock-based band THE DUKE AND THE KING to bring you this fun new video contest! The band’s album THE DUKE AND THE KING includes a beautiful song “Hudson River” (free download link below). The album comes out on August 16th and to celebrate we’re looking for people like you who would like to contribute to celebrating the greatness of both the music and the waterway.
So ‘get animated’ and create a music video for “Hudson River“ – you can use photos, and/or videos to express what the river means to you. The winning entry will get a signed guitar from the band, and we can all enjoy different fans’ vision and celebration of the Hudson River!
To enter:
1. download the song “Hudson River” below
2. create a video using still and/or video images (no copyrighted material please) for the song
3. upload your video creation to a Youtube page and send us the link! Send an e-mail to [email protected] with the link. We’ll upload your video to a dedicated Youtube channel page with other entries!
The other details:
1. Contest deadline is September 9th, 2011.
2. Entries will be judged by the band and Riverkeeper staff – winners announced on September 23rd, 2011.
3. Grand prize winner will receive a guitar signed by the band, and have the video officially released by the band on their own website.
4. Three runner-ups will receive a signed import vinyl version of THE DUKE AND THE KING album, plus a signed 7” single from the band!

The band is also performing this weekend in Woodstock, NY at the Byrdcliffe Theater on Friday August 5th, and in New York at City Winery on Saturday August 6th. We have 2 pairs of tickets to give away for their Saturday show at City Winery – to enter just send an e-mail to [email protected] with THE DUKE AND THE KING in the subject line by 12pm on Friday. She will notify the winners shortly thereafter.
