Join Riverkeeper’s Volunteer Team! At Riverkeeper we appreciate and depend on the ongoing support our volunteers provide us with. Our opportunities vary from occasional volunteer needs, to ongoing programs. Riverkeeper has a volunteer position for you as long as you are passionate about defending the Hudson River from pollution and protecting the quality of drinking water for over 9 million New Yorkers.
Please review the below opportunities and fill out out our required volunteer form and make sure to note if you are interested in a particular volunteer opportunity.
Have a question? Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Heartie Look, at (914) 478-4501 ext. 252 or hlook@riverkeeper.org.
A strong membership base is critical to the success and effectiveness of Riverkeeper’s work. For this reason, Riverkeeper has launched the Champion Program, a volunteer-lead movement to build Riverkeeper’s citizen army of clean water advocates.

Riverkeeper is recruiting a regular staff of volunteers to help us with monthly follow-up calls to members after we send them mail pieces. This is a new program and volunteer opportunity which will take place on a regular monthly basis, usually every third week, and be extremely helpful to Riverkeeper in keeping our costs low while increasing our financial support.
This may be done remotely and on your own time at your house, on the road or wherever you please within about one week after we send out the mailing. You’ll be given a list of about 10-15 confidential names and contact information. If you would like to call from our office in Tarrytown, that is also an option.
Please email Heartie Look at: hlook@riverkeeper.org to volunteer or call (914) 478 4501 ext. 252 with any questions.
Thank you for your time and energy in support of Riverkeeper!
Help Riverkeeper cut back on the amount of fuel and energy consumed by processing our mailings through an external company assisting us with mailings done from “in house.” On occasion, Riverkeeper requests the help of your hands in producing small scale mailings from our office in Tarrytown, NY. For the majority of projects, it will require all or part of one day and you will work on a team of 2- 5 people. This will keep our eco-footprint low and production level high!
If interested or with questions, please email Heartie Look at: hlook@riverkeeper.org to volunteer or call (914) 478 4501 ext. 252 with any questions.
Thank you for your time and energy in support of Riverkeeper!
