Improper reuse and disposal of fracking waste is a problem. Communities across New York are taking action to protect their environment and the health of their citizens from these contaminants. At least fifteen counties have banned the use of this waste for road­spreading, disposal at landfills, and/or acceptance at wastewater treatment facilities.
