About this location:

This beach is currently used for environmental education, non-authorized recreation and as an informal human-powered boat rest stop. It was identified for improved water access in the East River Blueway Plan, and funding for improvements was set aside by the Manhattan Borough President's Office and the City Council. There is a combined sewer overflow outfall nearby. Site Coordinator: Jose Almonte. Site Sponsor: Lower East Side Ecology Center. These samples are processed by The River Project.
