Entero Count

Enterococcus (“Entero”) is a fecal indicating bacterium that lives in the intestines of humans and other warm-blooded animals. It is the EPA preferred indicator for sewage contamination.

About this location:

This site is located amidst several farms, a D & H Canal Heritage Corridor trailhead, a country club and an RV park near Accord. Rochester Creek joins the Rondout just downstream of this sampling site. There are multiple agricultural water withdrawals near this site.
