Enterococcus (“Entero”) is a fecal indicating bacterium that lives in the intestines of humans and other warm-blooded animals. It is the EPA preferred indicator for sewage contamination.

About this location:

This sampling site is located in one of the small headwater streams of Sparkill Creek. This arm of the creek rises from seeps to drain the forested area on the south side of Clausland Mountain.
