Enterococcus (“Entero”) is a fecal indicating bacterium that lives in the intestines of humans and other warm-blooded animals. It is the EPA preferred indicator for sewage contamination.

About this location:

This fishing area is located 3/4 mile upstream of the Dashville Dam, at the Route 32 bridge. Downstream of this point, the Wallkill passes through forested land cover until joining Rondout Creek. The river here is very slow moving and calm.
