Enterococcus (“Entero”) is a fecal indicating bacterium that lives in the intestines of humans and other warm-blooded animals. It is the EPA preferred indicator for sewage contamination.

This site is located downstream of some rapids. A kiosk on the Montgomery Place property overlooks this site. These samples are collected by Saw Kill Watershed Community members and processed by the Bard Water Lab.
